Accessibility Statement for Ask Woodgreen Products
Commitment to accessibility
We are committed to ensuring that our website and digital products are accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. Our digital products (Ask Woodgreen, Pet Explorer, and Virtual Training) are currently in the early stages of development. We are dedicated to integrating accessibility features as a fundamental part of our design and development process, in line with WCAG 2.2 Level AA standards.
Accessibility Features in Development
We are actively working on the following key accessibility features:
- Keyboard navigation: Ensuring all functions are operable via a keyboard to assist users who may not use a mouse.
- Screen reader compatibility: Organising content to be compatible with screen readers, including meaningful alt text for non-decorative images.
- Closed captions: Providing closed captions for all video content to make it accessible to users with hearing impairments.
- Colour contrast: Using strong colour contrast to improve readability for users with visual impairments.
- Accessible forms: Designing forms with clear labels and ensuring full keyboard navigation. We are also verifying that our form vendors meet WCAG 2.2 standards for accessibility.
- Focus appearance (minimum): Ensuring focus indicators are visible and clear for keyboard navigation.
- Pointer target spacing: Providing sufficient spacing between clickable elements to prevent accidental activation.
- Accessible authentication: Avoiding the use of cognitive tests for authentication processes.
Additional accessibility considerations
In addition to the above features, we are considering other accessibility needs, such as:
- Responsive design: Ensuring that our website is usable across a variety of devices and screen sizes.
- Consistent navigation: Providing a consistent navigation structure to help users orient themselves and find information easily.
- Error prevention: Implementing features to help prevent and correct user errors, such as clear instructions and validation for form fields.
- Findable help: Making sure users can easily locate support resources and help sections.
Continuous improvement
We understand that accessibility is an ongoing process, and we are committed to continuous improvement. We welcome feedback from users to help us enhance the accessibility of our website. If you encounter any accessibility issues or have suggestions, please contact us at digital@woodgreen.org.uk
Thank you for your patience and support as we work to make our website fully accessible to all users.
